Don Hartley has been in payments and FinTech for 25 years and is a self-described payments nerd. He has worked worldwide, from Europe to the Middle East, to Southeast Asia.Don has created mobile wallets, the first payment processing app for the iPhone, Payment Processing Software, Gateways, Mobile processing solutions, Neo-banks, Card Issuances, POS Hardware, and PayFac. He founded, built, and sold an ISO and Payment Software company between 2001 and 2007 and has built products for companies ranging from PayPal to JP Morgan to MoneyGram. Don’s currently Head of Payments at Squire, a POS company, and lives off the coast of Georgia with his wife, 5 children, and a foul-tempered rabbit.
Travis Mottershead is a Senior Solutions Architect at VGS. He helps larger customers descope their network from sensitive or toxic data. He lives in Edmonton, Canada with his wife, one-year-old, and two small dogs.

Kunal is skilled in capital raising, operational management, financial planning & consulting, and strongly believes in data evangelism. He also possesses a Master’s in Finance from HULT international Business School.Nithin BoseNithin leads Product and Customer Success at VGS. He has been at VGS for the past three years, helping build and scale the organization through its 10x revenue growth phase. Cristina started her career on Wall Street, working at Goldman Sachs and BlackRock before she pivoted to fintech and joined Plaid's GTM team in San Francisco, where she spent several years. Cristina was recognized for her work as a leader in the fintech community by being named an Inspiring Fintech Female by NYC Fintech Women in 2020 and 2022. She currently resides in New York City and enjoys advising and investing in startups, overpaying for boutique fitness classes, cooking up new recipes for friends, and connecting good people with each other.
Saira Rahman Saira is currently the VP of New Investor Initiatives at Fundrise, where she is building new fintech products for the alts platform. Prior to this, she was the VP of Finance at HMBradley, a consumer neobank. Saira was also the co-host of the viral podcast "Girls Just Wanna Have Funds," where she spent time discussing the nuance behind financial literacy. Before entering the world of fintech, Saira spent 11 years working in derivatives sales and trading. In her spare time, Saira loves to spend time with her family, and make art.

We have renamed the show Descoped: The Payments Security Podcast, rebranded it, and we have a new host (Megan Powers on our marketing team) to kick-off our second season with this latest episode!
VGS enjoys keeping up with trends and sharing what matters in the data security, payments, and fintech space. At the end of 2022 our own Ken Geers, PhD, wrote a retrospective on trends for the year, and then recently wrote one about trends to look for in 2023.
Ken came on the podcast as our first guest of season two to chat about these emerging trends.

Dr. Kenneth Geers works at VGS and has deep experience in cyber security. He’s an Atlantic Council Cyber Statecraft Initiative Senior Fellow, a NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence Ambassador, and a Digital Society Institute-Berlin Affiliate. Prior to those services, Ken served for twenty years in the US Government: in the Army, for the National Security Agency (NSA), in Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), and at NATO. He’s the author of the book “Strategic Cyber Security,” editor of the books ”Cyber War in Perspective” and ”The Virtual Battlefield,” and a technical expert for the ”Tallinn Manual” (an academic, non-binding study on how international law applies to cyber conflicts and cyber warfare).
